Store unwashed in a loose plastic bag or container lined with a paper towel in the crisper drawer. Wash just before use.

Freezer

10-12 months

Blanch for 2 minutes, then cool quickly, drain, and pack into airtight freezer bags or containers. Can be frozen raw, but texture will be very soft upon thawing; best for cooked dishes.

  • Strong, unpleasant odor
  • Significant discoloration (yellowing or browning)

Room Temperature Safety

2-hour rule (1 hour if ambient temperature is above 90°F/32°C)

Do not leave arugula at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the temperature is above 90°F (32°C), do not leave it out for more than 1 hour.
