Fresh green beans will wilt and spoil quickly at room temperature. For best quality and safety, store in the refrigerator.
Refrigerator
3-5 days
Store unwashed fresh Baguio beans in a plastic bag or perforated container in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator.
Freezer
10-12 months
For best quality, blanch Baguio beans for 3 minutes in boiling water, then immediately cool in ice water. Drain thoroughly, pat dry, and pack into freezer-safe bags or containers, removing as much air as possible.
Signs of Spoilage
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Mold growth
- Off-odor
- Discoloration (yellowing, browning)
- Soft or mushy texture
Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F
Do not leave fresh Baguio beans at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), do not leave them out for more than 1 hour. Discard if left out longer than these recommended times.
Safe Handling
Wash fresh Baguio beans thoroughly under running water before preparing or eating.
Prevent cross-contamination by keeping fresh produce separate from raw meat, poultry, and seafood.
Discard any beans that show signs of spoilage.
