Cooked onions are perishable and should be refrigerated promptly. Follow the 2-hour rule.
Refrigerator
3-4 days
Store baked onions in a shallow, airtight container to ensure rapid cooling and prevent contamination. Place in the coldest part of the refrigerator.
Freezer
10-12 months
Cool completely before freezing. Store in freezer-safe bags or airtight containers, removing as much air as possible. Label with the date.
Signs of Spoilage

- Significant discoloration
Room Temperature Safety

Do not leave baked onions at room temperature for more than 2 hours. Discard any food left in the danger zone for too long.
