Blackberries are highly perishable and should be refrigerated immediately after purchase.
Refrigerator
2-3 days
Store unwashed blackberries in a single layer on a paper towel in a shallow container. Keep them dry to prevent mold. Wash gently just before eating.
Freezer

Wash and thoroughly dry blackberries. Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Transfer to freezer-safe bags or containers, removing as much air as possible.

Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F (4°C–60°C)
Fresh blackberries should not be left at room temperature (between 40°F and 140°F) for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), they should not be left out for more than 1 hour.
Safe Handling
Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after handling fresh produce.
Wash blackberries gently under cool running water just before eating or preparing.
Avoid cross-contamination by keeping blackberries separate from raw meats, poultry, and seafood.
