Cool completely before freezing. Store in freezer-safe bags or airtight containers. For best quality, consider mashing or dicing before freezing.

Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F (4°C–60°C)
Perishable foods, including cooked potatoes, should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.
Safe Handling
Refrigerate cooked potatoes within 2 hours of cooking (1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F/32°C).
Reheat leftovers thoroughly to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
