Unopened commercially processed bravas sauce can be stored in the pantry until its 'Best By' date. Once opened, it must be refrigerated.
Refrigerator
3-4 days
Store in an airtight container. Keep refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) or below.
Freezer
3-4 months for best quality; safe indefinitely
Freeze in airtight freezer-safe containers or heavy-duty freezer bags. Leave headspace for expansion.
Signs of Spoilage
- Off-odor
- Mold growth
- Discoloration
- Unusual texture (e.g., slimy)
- Sour taste
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for food is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C), where bacteria can multiply rapidly.
Promptly refrigerate or discard bravas sauce if it has been left out at room temperature for longer than the recommended time limits.
Safe Handling
Always refrigerate promptly after use.
Do not leave at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if above 90°F/32°C).
Use clean utensils to avoid cross-contamination.
Reheat thoroughly to 165°F (74°C) if serving hot.
