Broccolini should be refrigerated promptly to maintain freshness and safety. Do not store at room temperature for more than 2 hours.

Refrigerator

3-5 days

Store unwashed broccolini in a loose plastic bag or wrapped in a damp paper towel in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. Wash just before use.

Freezer

10-12 months

For best quality and safety, blanch broccolini before freezing. Wash, cut into desired pieces, blanch in boiling water for 3 minutes, then cool quickly in ice water. Drain thoroughly, pat dry, and pack into airtight freezer bags or containers.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Yellowing or browning of florets or stems
  • Soft, slimy, or mushy texture
  • Off-odor or sour smell
  • Presence of mold

Room Temperature Safety

Perishable foods, including fresh vegetables, should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
