Broccolini should be refrigerated promptly to maintain freshness and safety. Do not store at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
Refrigerator
3-5 days
Store unwashed broccolini in a loose plastic bag or wrapped in a damp paper towel in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. Wash just before use.
Freezer
10-12 months
For best quality and safety, blanch broccolini before freezing. Wash, cut into desired pieces, blanch in boiling water for 3 minutes, then cool quickly in ice water. Drain thoroughly, pat dry, and pack into airtight freezer bags or containers.
Signs of Spoilage
- Yellowing or browning of florets or stems
- Soft, slimy, or mushy texture
- Off-odor or sour smell
- Presence of mold
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
Refrigerate broccolini promptly after purchase. Discard any broccolini left in the danger zone for longer than the recommended time limits.
Safe Handling
Wash broccolini thoroughly under cool running water just before preparing or eating.
Avoid cross-contamination by keeping broccolini separate from raw meats, poultry, and seafood.
