Freezer

10-12 months

Blanch whole or halved Brussels sprouts for 3-5 minutes, then cool quickly in ice water, drain thoroughly, and pat dry. Pack into freezer-safe bags or containers, removing as much air as possible.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Yellowing or browning of leaves
  • Soft, mushy, or slimy texture
  • Mold growth (white, green, or black fuzzy spots)
  • Off-odor or sour smell

Room Temperature Safety

Follow the 2-hour rule: Do not leave perishable food out at room temperature for more than 2 hours.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).

Refrigerate Brussels sprouts promptly after purchase. If left out, discard after 2 hours, or 1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F (32°C).
