Opened tomato paste should be refrigerated or frozen within 2 hours of being at room temperature to prevent bacterial growth and ensure safety.
Safe Handling
Always wash hands with soap and water before and after handling food.
Do not store opened canned food in the can; transfer to a clean, food-grade storage container.
Discard any food left at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if the ambient temperature is above 90°F/32°C).
