Store unwashed cherries in a plastic bag or container in the coldest part of the refrigerator. Wash just before eating.
Freezer

Wash, pit, and dry cherries thoroughly before freezing. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet to freeze, then transfer to freezer bags or airtight containers.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
