Shredded cheese is highly perishable once opened and should be refrigerated promptly. Unopened, it should also be refrigerated.

Refrigerator

3-4 days after opening

Store in original packaging or a tightly sealed container to prevent drying out and absorption of odors. Keep at 40°F (4°C) or below.

Freezer

Up to 6 months

Freeze in original unopened package or in airtight freezer bags. May become crumbly after thawing, best used in cooked dishes.
