Store unopened, shelf-stable chocolate beverages in a cool, dark place. Refrigerate all chocolate beverages immediately after opening.

Refrigerator

Opened: 7-10 days; Unopened, refrigerated type: Until 'use-by' date

Keep refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) or below. Keep tightly sealed after opening.

Freezer

Up to 3 months

Freeze in airtight containers, leaving headspace as liquid expands. Thaw in the refrigerator.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Bloated or leaking packaging (for unopened)

Room Temperature Safety

The 2-hour rule: Do not leave perishable food at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
