Due to its high dairy and egg content, tres leches cake is highly perishable and must be refrigerated. Do not store at room temperature.
Refrigerator
3-4 days
Store tightly covered in the refrigerator to prevent drying out and absorption of other food odors. Keep at 40°F (4°C) or below.
Freezer
2-3 months
To freeze, wrap individual slices or the whole cake tightly in plastic wrap, then in aluminum foil, or place in a heavy-duty freezer bag. Thaw in the refrigerator.
