Pantry

Not Recommended

Unsafe (if opened)

Opened liquid coffee creamer should not be stored at room temperature. Unopened, shelf-stable liquid creamers can be stored in the pantry until the 'Best by' date. Powdered creamers can be stored in the pantry for several months unopened, or 2-3 months once opened.

Refrigerator

1-2 weeks after opening

Keep refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) or below. Always keep the container tightly sealed to prevent absorption of odors and maintain freshness.

Freezer

Up to 3 months

While safe to freeze, the texture and quality of liquid coffee creamer may change upon thawing, often becoming separated or grainy. Stir well after thawing. Thaw in the refrigerator.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Sour or off odor
  • Visible mold growth
  • Curdled or lumpy texture
  • Discoloration
  • Bloated or bulging container

Room Temperature Safety

The 2-hour rule applies: Perishable foods, including opened liquid coffee creamer, should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.

The 'Danger Zone' for food is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C), where bacteria can multiply rapidly.

Always return opened liquid coffee creamer to the refrigerator as soon as possible after use. Discard any creamer that has been outside of refrigeration for longer than the recommended time limits.
