Cooked meat should not be stored at room temperature for extended periods due to rapid bacterial growth.
Refrigerator

Refrigerate promptly in shallow containers to cool quickly. Cover tightly to prevent contamination and maintain moisture.
Freezer

Wrap tightly in heavy-duty foil, plastic wrap, or freezer bags. Label with the date of freezing.
Signs of Spoilage
- Sour or off-odor
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Mold growth
- Significant discoloration (e.g., green or gray patches)
Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F (4°C–60°C)
Do not leave cooked burger patties at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the temperature is above 90°F (32°C), discard after 1 hour.
Safe Handling
Cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F (71.1°C) as measured with a food thermometer.
Avoid cross-contamination by using separate cutting boards and utensils for raw and cooked meats.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after handling raw meat.
Reheat cooked burger patties to an internal temperature of 165°F (73.9°C).
