Cooked meatloaf should not be stored at room temperature for extended periods due to bacterial growth risk.
Refrigerator
3-4 days
Refrigerate promptly in shallow, airtight containers. Ensure refrigerator temperature is 40°F (4°C) or below.
Freezer
3-4 months
Wrap tightly in heavy-duty foil or plastic wrap, or place in freezer bags or airtight containers. Label with date.
Signs of Spoilage
- Sour or off-odors
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Mold growth
- Discoloration
Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F (4°C–60°C)
Perishable foods, including cooked meatloaf, should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.
Safe Handling
Reheat cooked meatloaf to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Avoid cross-contamination by using separate cutting boards and utensils for raw and cooked foods.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after handling food.
Do not leave cooked meatloaf at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F/32°C).
