Cool Whip requires refrigeration once thawed. Do not store at room temperature.
Refrigerator
1-2 weeks
Keep thawed Cool Whip tightly covered in the refrigerator. Do not leave at room temperature for extended periods.
Freezer
Up to 2 months (unopened, frozen); Not recommended for quality after thawing
Cool Whip is sold frozen and can be stored in its original container in the freezer. Once thawed, refreezing is not recommended as it may affect texture and quality.
Signs of Spoilage
- Sour or off odor
- Visible mold growth
- Significant discoloration
- Unusual watery or separated texture
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for food is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C), where bacteria can multiply rapidly.
Thawed Cool Whip should be returned to the refrigerator promptly after serving. Discard any thawed Cool Whip left out for longer than the recommended time limits.
Safe Handling
Always keep Cool Whip refrigerated once thawed.
Do not leave thawed Cool Whip at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if temperature is above 90°F/32°C).
