Store crème brûlée in a shallow, airtight container to prevent absorption of odors and maintain quality. Cover tightly with plastic wrap or a lid.

While safe indefinitely, for best quality, freeze crème brûlée in an airtight, freezer-safe container for up to 2-3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Sour or off odor
  • Mold growth
  • Slimy or watery texture
  • Unusual discoloration

Room Temperature Safety

The 2-hour rule: Do not leave perishable foods, including crème brûlée, at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).

Promptly refrigerate crème brûlée after serving. Discard any crème brûlée left in the danger zone for longer than the recommended time.
