Refrigerator

5-7 days

Store unwashed drumsticks in a perforated plastic bag or wrapped in a damp cloth in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator to maintain freshness and humidity.

Freezer

10-12 months

Wash, peel (optional), cut into desired lengths, blanch in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, cool rapidly in ice water, drain thoroughly, pat dry, and freeze in airtight containers or heavy-duty freezer bags.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Soft or mushy texture
  • Discoloration (yellowing or browning)
  • Mold growth
  • Off-odor

Room Temperature Safety

2-hour rule (1 hour above 90°F/32°C)

40°F–140°F

Perishable foods, including fresh produce, should not be left at room temperature (between 40°F and 140°F) for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), food should not be left out for more than 1 hour.

Expert Tips

Safe Handling
