Signs of Spoilage

  • Wilting or limp texture
  • Soft or mushy spots
  • Discoloration (yellowing or browning)
  • Mold growth
  • Off-odor

Room Temperature Safety

Perishable foods should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).

Fennel, like other fresh produce, should be refrigerated promptly to maintain quality and safety. Discard if left in the danger zone for too long.
