Refrigerate promptly. Do not store at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
Refrigerator
3-4 days
Store in an airtight container or covered tightly with plastic wrap to prevent drying out and absorbing odors. Place in the coldest part of the refrigerator.
Freezer
2-3 months
Wrap individual slices or the whole cake tightly in plastic wrap, then in aluminum foil, or place in a heavy-duty freezer bag or airtight freezer-safe container. Thaw in the refrigerator.

- Sour or off-odor
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Discoloration
- Unusual taste
Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F (4°C–60°C)
Perishable foods, including fresh cream cake, should not be left at room temperature within the danger zone for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.
