Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C). Cooked fried chicken should not remain in this temperature range for extended periods.
Always refrigerate or freeze cooked fried chicken promptly. If it has been left out within the danger zone for longer than the recommended time, it should be discarded to prevent foodborne illness.
Safe Handling
Reheat all leftovers, including fried chicken, to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) as measured with a food thermometer.
Avoid cross-contamination by keeping cooked fried chicken separate from raw meats, poultry, and seafood.
Wash hands, cutting boards, utensils, and countertops with hot, soapy water after handling raw poultry and before handling cooked foods.
