Frozen berries must be stored at 0°F (-18°C) or below to maintain safety and quality. Pantry storage is unsafe.
Refrigerator
3-4 days (after thawing)
Thaw frozen berries in the refrigerator. Once thawed, consume within 3-4 days. Do not refreeze thawed berries.
Freezer
8-12 months
Keep berries frozen solid at 0°F (-18°C) or below in original packaging or airtight containers to prevent freezer burn.
Signs of Spoilage
- Mold growth
- Off-odor or sour smell
- Mushy or excessively soft texture
- Discoloration beyond normal variations
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for food is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C), where bacteria can multiply rapidly.
Never thaw frozen berries at room temperature. Once thawed, any berries left in the danger zone for too long should be discarded.
Safe Handling
Keep frozen until ready to use.
