Not RecommendedUnsafe
Frozen chicken nuggets must be kept frozen until ready to cook. Do not store at room temperature.
Refrigerator
3-4 days (after cooking/reheating)
Once cooked or reheated, store leftover chicken nuggets in a shallow, airtight container. If thawed but not cooked, treat as cooked poultry and cook within 3-4 days.
Freezer
3-4 months (for best quality)
Keep frozen at 0°F (-18°C) or below in original airtight packaging. While safe indefinitely, quality is best within 3-4 months.
Signs of Spoilage
- Off-odor (sour, ammonia-like)
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Mold growth
- Discoloration (greenish or grayish spots)
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
Thawed or cooked chicken nuggets should be refrigerated promptly. Never leave them out on the counter for extended periods.
Safe Handling
Always cook frozen chicken nuggets to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) as measured with a food thermometer.
Follow package cooking instructions carefully.
Do not refreeze chicken nuggets that have been thawed.
Prevent cross-contamination by washing hands, cutting boards, utensils, and countertops with hot, soapy water after contact with raw or thawed poultry products.
