Refrigerator

3-4 days

Cover loosely with plastic wrap or aluminum foil to prevent drying out. Store in the coldest part of the refrigerator.

Freezer

6-8 months

Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and then in heavy-duty aluminum foil, or place in a freezer-safe bag or container. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Mold growth
  • Sour, yeasty, or unpleasant off-odor
  • Slimy or sticky texture
  • Unusual discoloration

Room Temperature Safety

The 2-hour rule: Perishable foods should not be left out at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).

Promptly refrigerate or freeze fruit cobbler after serving. Discard any cobbler left at room temperature for longer than the recommended time.
