Several months to 1 year (unopened)
Store unopened jars in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed.
Refrigerator
1-2 months (opened)
Refrigerate immediately after opening. Keep tightly sealed in its original container.
Freezer
3-4 months
For best quality, transfer to an airtight freezer-safe container or ice cube trays for individual portions. Label with the date.
Signs of Spoilage
- Mold growth on the surface or sides of the container
- Off-odor, sour, or fermented smell
- Significant discoloration (e.g., darkening or unusual color changes)
- Unusual texture, such as sliminess or excessive dryness
- Bulging or leaking container (for unopened products, indicates spoilage)
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
Opened garlic ginger paste should be refrigerated promptly. Discard any paste that has been left in the danger zone for longer than the recommended time limits.
Safe Handling
Always use clean utensils to scoop out the paste to prevent contamination.
Do not leave opened paste at room temperature for extended periods.
Discard if left out at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if above 90°F/32°C).
