Refrigerator

Refrigerate immediately after opening. Keep tightly sealed in its original container.

Freezer

3-4 months

For best quality, transfer to an airtight freezer-safe container or ice cube trays for individual portions. Label with the date.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Mold growth on the surface or sides of the container
  • Off-odor, sour, or fermented smell
  • Significant discoloration (e.g., darkening or unusual color changes)
  • Unusual texture, such as sliminess or excessive dryness
  • Bulging or leaking container (for unopened products, indicates spoilage)

Room Temperature Safety

The 2-hour rule applies: Do not leave perishable foods, including opened paste, at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).

Opened garlic ginger paste should be refrigerated promptly. Discard any paste that has been left in the danger zone for longer than the recommended time limits.
