Pantry
Up to 1 week (until ripe)
Store at room temperature on the counter away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate unripe mangoes as it can inhibit ripening and affect flavor and texture.
Refrigerator
5-7 days (once ripe)
Refrigerate ripe, whole mangoes in a plastic bag or crisper drawer. For cut mangoes, store in an airtight container.
Freezer
10-12 months (cut)
Peel, pit, and cut ripe mango into slices or cubes. Freeze in a single layer on a baking sheet until solid, then transfer to airtight freezer bags or containers, removing as much air as possible.
Signs of Spoilage
- Soft spots or mushy texture
- Mold growth (fuzzy white, green, or black spots)
- Sour or fermented odor
- Discoloration beyond normal ripening changes
- Leaking or weeping
Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F
Do not leave cut mangoes at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F/32°C). Promptly refrigerate or freeze cut mangoes.

Wash whole mangoes thoroughly under running water before peeling or cutting.
