Fresh diced green onions should be refrigerated promptly to maintain quality and safety.
Refrigerator

Store unwashed whole green onions wrapped in a damp paper towel in a plastic bag in the crisper drawer. Diced green onions should be stored in an airtight container.
Freezer
10-12 months
Wash and chop green onions. Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Transfer to an airtight freezer bag or container, removing as much air as possible.
Signs of Spoilage
- Slimy or mushy texture
- Strong, unpleasant odor
- Visible mold growth
- Significant yellowing or browning of the green tops

Do not leave diced green onions at room temperature for more than 2 hours. Discard any green onions left in the danger zone for longer than the recommended time.
