Frozen peas must remain frozen for safe storage. Do not store at room temperature or in the pantry.
Refrigerator
3-4 days (if thawed)
Once thawed, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Do not refreeze thawed peas.
Freezer
8 months
Keep frozen at 0°F (-18°C) or below. After opening, reseal the package tightly or transfer to a freezer-safe bag or container to prevent freezer burn and maintain quality.
Signs of Spoilage
- Off-odor
- Slimy texture (if thawed)
- Mold (if thawed)
- Discoloration
Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F (4°C–60°C)
Thawed peas should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F/32°C). Discard any peas left in the danger zone for too long.
Safe Handling
Keep frozen until ready to use.
Do not refreeze thawed peas.
Cook to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) if serving hot.
Wash hands before and after handling frozen or thawed vegetables.
Prevent cross-contamination by using separate cutting boards and utensils for raw meat and produce.
