Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F (4°C–60°C)
Perishable foods, including cooked ham, should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), the limit is 1 hour. Discard any ham left out longer than these recommended times.
Safe Handling
Always wash hands with soap and water before and after handling ham.
Keep cooked ham separate from raw meats, poultry, and seafood to prevent cross-contamination.
Reheat cooked ham to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safety, using a food thermometer.
Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours of cooking or serving.
Thaw frozen ham in the refrigerator, never at room temperature or on the counter.
