Homemade almond milk lacks preservatives and pasteurization, making it highly perishable. It should be refrigerated immediately after preparation.
Refrigerator

Store in a clean, airtight container. Keep at 40°F (4°C) or below. Shake well before serving.
Freezer
3 months
Freeze in ice cube trays or small, airtight containers, leaving headspace for expansion. Thaw in the refrigerator and shake well before use. Texture may change slightly upon thawing.

Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
To prevent the rapid growth of harmful bacteria, always keep homemade almond milk refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) or below, and minimize time spent at room temperature.
Safe Handling
Ensure all equipment (blender, containers) used for preparation is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to prevent bacterial contamination.
Refrigerate homemade almond milk immediately after preparation and straining.
Do not leave homemade almond milk at room temperature for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F/32°C).
