Safe Handling
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling and cutting jalapenos, especially before touching eyes or other sensitive areas, as capsaicin can cause irritation.
Consider wearing gloves when cutting jalapenos to prevent skin irritation.
Wash fresh jalapenos thoroughly under running water before cutting or eating.
Avoid cross-contamination by using separate cutting boards and utensils for produce and raw meats.
