Store promptly in an airtight container or original packaging at 40°F (4°C) or below. Consume within 3-5 days of opening.
Freezer
1-2 months
For best quality, wrap tightly in freezer wrap or heavy-duty aluminum foil, then place in a freezer bag. Label with the date. Freezing may alter the texture of the mozzarella cheese.
Signs of Spoilage
- Off-odor or sour smell
- Slimy or sticky texture on the meat or cheese
- Visible mold growth on the cheese or meat
- Discoloration of the meat (e.g., green or gray spots)
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
Refrigerate promptly. Discard any mozzarella roll with salami and pepperoni left in the danger zone for longer than the recommended time.
