Store cooked pea soup in shallow, airtight containers. Refrigerate within 2 hours of cooking.

Freeze cooked pea soup in airtight freezer-safe containers or heavy-duty freezer bags. Leave headspace for expansion.
Signs of Spoilage

Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F
Perishable foods, including cooked pea soup, should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), food should not be left out for more than 1 hour.
Safe Handling
Reheat all leftovers, including soup, to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Do not leave cooked pea soup at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F/32°C).
Divide large quantities of hot soup into smaller portions before refrigerating to cool more quickly.
