Store whole, uncut pineapple at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Once ripe, consume or refrigerate promptly.

Refrigerator

Whole: 5-7 days; Cut: 3-5 days

Store whole, uncut pineapple in the refrigerator to extend its shelf life. Store cut pineapple in an airtight container.

Freezer

8-12 months

Peel, core, and cut pineapple into chunks or slices. Pack in airtight freezer bags or containers. Can be frozen with or without syrup.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Soft spots or mushy texture
  • Mold growth
  • Sour or fermented odor
  • Discoloration (darkening or unusual spots)
  • Leaking or sticky exterior

Room Temperature Safety

Cut pineapple should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), it should not be left out for more than 1 hour. Discard if left out longer.
