Store cooked potato soup in shallow, airtight containers. Refrigerate promptly after cooking. Do not overfill containers to allow for quick cooling.
Freezer
2-3 months
Freeze cooked potato soup in airtight, freezer-safe containers or heavy-duty freezer bags. Leave headspace for expansion. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.

Room Temperature Safety
The danger zone for food is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C), where bacteria multiply rapidly.
Cool hot soup rapidly before refrigerating. Divide large quantities into shallow containers to facilitate quicker cooling. Reheat thoroughly to 165°F (74°C).
Safe Handling
Reheat potato soup to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Do not leave cooked potato soup at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F/32°C).
