Store unopened in a cool, dry place according to the 'best by' date. Once opened, refrigerate promptly.
Refrigerator
1-2 weeks
Store opened red bean paste in an airtight container to prevent drying out and absorption of odors. Keep refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) or below.
Freezer
2-3 months
Portion red bean paste into small, airtight containers or freezer-safe bags. Thaw in the refrigerator before use.
Signs of Spoilage
- Visible mold growth
- Off-odor (sour, fermented, or unusual smell)
- Discoloration (darkening or unusual spots)
- Unusual texture (slimy, excessively dry, or hardened)
Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F (4°C–60°C)
Do not leave opened red bean paste at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), discard after 1 hour.
