Spinach paste is highly perishable and should be refrigerated promptly. Pantry storage is not recommended for safety.

Refrigerator

3-4 days

Store in a clean, airtight container. Ensure the refrigerator temperature is maintained at or below 40°F (4°C).

Freezer

10-12 months

Freeze in small, airtight containers or heavy-duty freezer bags. Thaw in the refrigerator before use.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Slimy or sticky texture

Room Temperature Safety

2-hour rule (1 hour above 90°F/32°C)

40°F–140°F

Perishable foods like spinach paste should not be left at room temperature (between 40°F and 140°F) for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), this time is reduced to 1 hour. Discard any spinach paste left out longer than these recommended times.
