Frozen donuts should not be stored in the pantry. Once thawed, consume within 1-2 days at room temperature, stored in an airtight container.
Refrigerator
3-4 days (after thawing)
Thaw in the refrigerator. Store thawed donuts in an airtight container to prevent drying out and absorption of odors.
Freezer
2-3 months (for best quality, safe indefinitely)
Keep in original airtight packaging or wrap tightly in freezer-safe wrap or foil to prevent freezer burn. Maintain freezer temperature at 0°F (-18°C) or below.
Signs of Spoilage
- Visible mold growth
- Sour or off-odor
- Slimy or sticky texture
- Unusual discoloration
- Excessive dryness or hardness
Room Temperature Safety
40°F–140°F
Do not leave thawed donuts at room temperature for more than 2 hours; discard if left out longer. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), discard after 1 hour.
Safe Handling
Thaw frozen donuts in the refrigerator or microwave. Do not thaw at room temperature for extended periods.
Do not refreeze donuts once they have been thawed.
