Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For best quality and safety, refrigerate as soon as possible.

Refrigerator

3-5 days

Store unwashed fresh Surti Papdi in a plastic bag or breathable container in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. Wash just before use.

Freezer

8-12 months

For best quality, blanch Surti Papdi before freezing. Wash, trim, and blanch in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then cool quickly in ice water. Drain thoroughly, pat dry, and pack into airtight freezer bags or containers.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Soft or slimy texture
  • Mold growth (fuzzy white, green, or black spots)
  • Off-odor or sour smell
  • Significant discoloration (e.g., yellowing or browning)

Room Temperature Safety

Perishable foods should not be left at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If the ambient temperature is above 90°F (32°C), this time limit is reduced to 1 hour.

The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
