Sweet cream is a perishable dairy product and should not be stored at room temperature once opened. Unopened, if pasteurized, it requires refrigeration.
Refrigerator

Store sweet cream in its original container in the coldest part of the refrigerator. Keep tightly sealed after opening.
Freezer
1-2 months (for best quality, safe indefinitely)
While safe indefinitely, freezing cream may alter its texture, making it grainy or separated when thawed. For best quality, freeze in an airtight container, leaving headspace. Thaw in the refrigerator.
Signs of Spoilage
- Sour or off odor
- Thickened or lumpy texture
- Discoloration
- Presence of mold
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
Promptly refrigerate sweet cream after purchase and use. Discard any cream left in the danger zone for too long.
Safe Handling
Always keep sweet cream refrigerated at or below 40°F (4°C).
Do not leave sweet cream at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if above 90°F/32°C).
Avoid cross-contamination by using clean utensils and containers.
