Fresh tarragon should not be stored at room temperature for extended periods. If dried, store in an airtight container away from light and heat.
Refrigerator

Wrap fresh tarragon in a damp paper towel, place in a plastic bag, and store in the refrigerator crisper drawer. Alternatively, place stems in a glass of water, cover loosely with a plastic bag, and refrigerate.
Freezer
10-12 months
Wash and pat dry tarragon leaves. Freeze whole leaves on a baking sheet, then transfer to an airtight freezer bag or container. Alternatively, chop and freeze in ice cube trays with water or oil.

- Wilting or limp leaves
- Darkening or yellowing of leaves
- Slimy texture
- Mold growth
- Off-odor
Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
Fresh tarragon should be refrigerated promptly after purchase and not left out at room temperature for extended periods to maintain quality and safety.
Safe Handling
Wash fresh tarragon thoroughly under cool running water before use.
Avoid cross-contamination by keeping fresh herbs separate from raw meats, poultry, and seafood.
