Keep opened tartar dip tightly covered in the refrigerator. Do not let it sit at room temperature for extended periods.
Freezer
Not RecommendedNot recommended
Freezing is not recommended for tartar dip as it will cause the mayonnaise-based ingredients to separate, resulting in an undesirable texture and appearance.

- Visible mold growth
- Significant discoloration (e.g., darkening or unusual spots)
- Separation of ingredients or an oily, curdled appearance

Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C). Tartar dip should not remain in this temperature range for extended periods.
Always refrigerate tartar dip promptly. If serving at a party, keep it chilled over ice or in small batches, replacing frequently to ensure it stays out of the danger zone.
Safe Handling
Always refrigerate tartar dip promptly after use.
Do not leave tartar dip at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F/32°C).
Use clean utensils to scoop dip to prevent cross-contamination.
Discard any dip that has been left out at room temperature beyond the safe time limits.
