Pantry
Not RecommendedUnsafe
Tuna salad is highly perishable and should not be stored at room temperature. Refrigerate promptly.
Refrigerator
3-4 days
Store tuna salad in a shallow, airtight container to maintain quality and prevent bacterial growth. Keep at 40°F (4°C) or below.

Room Temperature Safety
The 'Danger Zone' for bacterial growth is between 40°F (4°C) and 140°F (60°C).
Refrigerate tuna salad promptly after preparation or serving. Discard any tuna salad left in the danger zone for too long.
Safe Handling
Keep tuna salad refrigerated at or below 40°F (4°C) until ready to serve.
Do not leave tuna salad at room temperature for more than 2 hours (1 hour if the temperature is above 90°F / 32°C).
Always use clean utensils and containers when preparing and serving to prevent cross-contamination.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after handling food.
