Store unopened cans in a cool, dry place (below 85°F). Check for dents, bulges, or leaks before opening. Discard if can is damaged.

Refrigerator

3-4 days (opened can)

Transfer unused corn to a clean, airtight container. Do not store in the opened can. Refrigerate promptly.

Freezer

10-12 months (drained, transferred to freezer-safe container)

Drain liquid, pack into freezer-safe bags or containers, leaving headspace. Label with date.

Signs of Spoilage

  • Off-odor (sour, putrid)
  • Mold growth
  • Slimy or mushy texture
  • Discoloration
  • For unopened cans: bulging, leaking, or severely dented cans are signs of spoilage and should be discarded immediately.
