Whole lemons can be frozen, but the texture may become mushy after thawing, making them best for zest or juice. Wash, dry, and place in a freezer-safe bag or container.

Keep whole lemons at room temperature for up to one week. If cut, refrigerate promptly and use within 2-3 days. Discard any cut lemon left at room temperature for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour if above 90°F/32°C).
